Assalamualaikum, 𝐏/𝐂𝐃𝐓 𝐒𝐀𝐏𝐈𝐈, 𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐉𝐀𝐌𝐒𝐈𝐃 𝐒𝐔𝐋𝐀𝐈𝐌𝐀𝐍, reflects on his journey in this academy. Born in 𝐋𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐧, and raised in Zamboanga City, he currently serves as the Regimental Information Technology Management Officer of the cadet corps and looks forward to joining the ranks of the Philippine National Police.
He takes pride in being the eldest son of 𝐇𝐣. 𝐉𝐚𝐦𝐬𝐢𝐝 𝐒𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐢 and his late mother 𝐒𝐲𝐥𝐯𝐢𝐚 𝐒𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐢, with sisters 𝐑𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐮𝐳, 𝐉𝐚𝐦𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐫𝐚, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐲𝐞𝐞𝐬𝐡𝐚 𝐒𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐢. The first is a graduate of BS in Nursing and the second is still in high school at Regional Science High School IX, the same school where P/CDT Sapii graduated from. Despite humble beginnings, he was raised with strong values by his hardworking father and protective mother.
From his early years, he recalls his father’s words emphasizing the importance of education as the greatest gift they could provide. His father always says to him “𝑴𝒂𝒈 𝒔𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒐𝒍 𝒌𝒂𝒘 𝒎𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒚𝒂𝒘, 𝒂𝒎𝒖 𝒚𝒂𝒏 𝒊𝒏 𝒎𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒈𝒈𝒖 𝒊𝒌𝒂𝒅𝒊𝒉𝒊𝒍 𝒏𝒂𝒎𝒖 𝒌𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒚𝒖” which means “𝑻𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒆𝒅𝒖𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒔𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒍𝒚, 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕’𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒘𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒈𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖.” This instilled in him a belief that with determination and a strong belief in Allah, anything is achievable. He embraced this philosophy, dedicating himself to his studies and viewing every challenge as an opportunity for growth.
His path to the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) began in high school when he learned about it from a senior. Inspired by its promise of providing for his needs, ensuring education and career, and fostering holistic development, he set his sights on this institution.
Adapting to the regimented lifestyle and becoming part of the long maroon line posed challenges, but he approached them with the right mindset, discipline, and determination. He emphasizes the importance of personal management, which he views as instrumental in navigating through cadetship, enhancing his skills, and excelling academically and tactically.
Beyond academics, he finds fulfillment in diverse activities such as sports, drills, and leading corps activities, seeing them as opportunities for growth. His involvement in the cadet corps serves as a platform for continual physical, mental, and social development as he prepares to uphold the customs and traditions of his alma mater as a future public safety officer.
To aspiring cadets, he offers advice to step out of their comfort zones, believing that growth lies beyond familiarity. Drawing from his own experiences, he sees setbacks not as conclusions but as redirections toward something better, echoing the sentiment from Qur’an (8:70) that Allah (swt) will provide something greater than what was lost. His achievements, including receiving the 𝐒𝐈𝐋𝐆 𝐊𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐧 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝟑 𝐨𝐟 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬, attest to the resilience forged through overcoming obstacles on his journey.
