“Sangaw nu Katolayang” – a phrase my mother often said, meaning “someday, if we’re still alive.” She spoke these words with a mix of hope and uncertainty. For us, the future was never promised, only dreamed of. But in 2021, a door opened an opportunity that changed the course of our lives and brought those distant dreams within reach.
I am Cadet First Class Allam, Rica Joy Gatan, raised by a single mother and shaped by life’s challenges. With no background in the academy, I took the PNPACAT, seized the chance, passed the qualifications, and embraced the life of a cadet. The path I chose was never easy, yet here I stand with pride and honor as an Iskolar para sa Bayan.
