Introducing PNPA’S best of the best—Police Cadet Francis Geneta
MASIDTALAK’S long maroon line proudly reveals their a-list to the public, and at the pinnacle, there is POLICE CADET FRANCIS DE LEON GENETA—a native of Sitio Dulong Kanluran, Barangay San Isidro, Naujan–a man of few words but with undaunted self-discipline and intellectual prowess.
Prior reaching to the high reaches of his life, he had to scramble the lows and survive its trials and tribulations—starting from his early adolescence.
While most of his age would take the youngster years to explore the opportunities of youth, Police Cadet Geneta did not. After his father’s demise, at 7 years old he had a taste of the bleak reality he must be mature enough to handle. Acting the role of man of the family, was a responsibility he had to take in being the eldest among three. For Police Cadet Geneta, it was the least he could do to be of support to his mother who seamed clothes for a living and grappled to make ends meet. To help provide for the family, he took all job opportunities and even experienced tilling fertile lands while beating the heat.
“After my father died, I was no longer a child who needed tending. As the eldest, I had to stand on my feet for my siblings to have a figure to depend on,” P/CDT Geneta confesses.
Fortunately, despite missing the guidance of his father, P/CDT Geneta found the torch for himself to walk the dark alleyways of life. With a resilient spirit and a courageous heart, he was able to lead himself to the right path where he would shine and flourish best—as an academic achiever and scholar to cadet then finally, commissioned officer—fulfilling the prophecy his late father had for him, which became the helm where he steers his future.
As P/CDT Geneta focused on the attainment of this vision, he put prime investment into his education which lead to a domino of success—favoring its fall to his direction, one after the other.
Continuing to excel in his studies, P/CDT Geneta has his shots fired. He was a rocket on a mission—undisputed from its ascent to the skies.
Thus, bagging the top award did not come as a surprise, however, at least for the people that knew P/CDT Geneta. A class valedictorian in both elementary at San Isidro Elementary School, and high school at San Agustin National High School, and graduating Magna Cum Laude at Mindoro State University, then earning a professional teacher license in 2018, P/CDT Geneta was a gifted achiever with a high intelligence quotient. However, upon the release of the final order of merits, Police Cadet Geneta was in shock to see his name at the peak of the roster.
“I did not expect to be ranked first, I just knew I have to do well,” P/CDT confides, still filled with awe over the recognition. However, his astonishment soon transformed into anxiety when he was met with immense pressure and expectations.
Police Cadet Geneta, nonetheless, carried the weight of his award like a feather and made a personal oath to live the next chapter of his life as a man of virtue and a righteous Police lieutenant.
“I want to put emphasis on building public relations and establishing public trust,” P/CDT Geneta cites his goals as a commissioned officer. He believes that being up and close to the people through community engagement will make one a grounded and effective leader.
“Ang taumbayan ang nagbigay sakin ng oportunidad para makapag-aral,” expressed P/CDT Geneta, filled with gratitude. Apart from dedicating his victorious ventures to God, his family, especially his mother, and his folks in PNPA, he highlights his countrymen as one of his main reason for working hard. Being a scholar of the people, it is his earnest desire to be a scholar for the people—heeding the same mantra PNPA holds, ‘Iskolar Para sa Bayan.’
“Carve your own path towards success. Pray hard and work hard. You’ll eventually get there,” states P/CDT Geneta, in his parting words to the youth who takes inspiration from his story of rising amidst the adversities.
