“I was destined to become a police officer because my parents were one. I lived and breathed, day in and day-out the life of law enforcers. My playground was the police station and I grew familiar with law and order”.

“I came from a family of police officers starting with my grandfather, parents and uncle. This inspired me to become one, that someday I will be a police officer.”

“I was the youngest in a brood of three, our life was simple back then. We didn’t have a grand life but we were loved and provided well by our parents. We didn’t have the extra’s in life because the salary of police officers barely made the ends meet.”

“Before I became a police officer, I took a different path, I studied Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in Cebu Doctors University. I was on my third year when I entered the Philippine National Police Academy.”

“The training was arduous, demanding and back breaking but I made it through and became triumphant when I graduated in 2009. The victory was sweet and satisfying at the same time, at last I am a full pledged public servant.”

“When I assumed the position as the C, Personnel and Records Management Unit (PARMU) I made sure that everyone felt that no one is insignificant no matter how low one’s rank is. I took the position to help others by helping the police officers’ needs in terms of records, retirement and other concerns. By doing so, I wanted to be remembered as a leader who is kind and fair.”

PLTCOL ROSEMARIE M ACUPINPIN is married to a fellow police officer, according to her being a wife is a difficult role since both of them are busy and focused on work and have tough assignments. Her husband, PLTCOL JOSE ANGELO ACUPINPIN is juggling law studies and worked as Operations Officer of the Cebu City Police Office. PLTCOL ACUPINPIN added that she has made a choice of being a devout wife, nourishing her family at the same time to always understand and support her husband in his endeavors.

When PLTCOL ACUPINPIN was younger she was given a rare opportunity as Chief of Police of high insurgency areas in Surigao Del Norte. During that time, she lacked the experience and wisdom needed in the field. Whenever she had problems in her stations she would call her father, a retired police officer who rose from the ranks. She related that it was never a barrier to seek help from senior PNCOs who had more experience and wisdom.

It is high time that PLTCOL ACUPINPIN thanked her first deputy SPO1 Anglo N Ambid, now a Police Captain for guiding her through the challenging and hard times. People like AMBID made her value and puts premium on the people she worked with back in the days.

She would like to take this opportunity to thank those who she worked with along the years in San Francisco Municipal Station, Bacuag Municipal Station, Sta. Monica Municipal Police Station, Alcantara Municipal Station, Moalboal Police Station and the Tourist Police Unit. The police officers of this police stations and unit helped her become a better and mature police officer. Together they were able to dodge cases against them with the help of seasoned law enforcers.

Asked if what is her guiding principle? She answers that “Always make your own heaven” which she quoted and heard from her upperclassman, the late PCSUPT NESTOR M FAJURA, this became the source of my strength back then. Indeed, she made her assignments in police stations her own heaven and amazingly she survived.

Whenever she thinks of those days, the hardships, invaluable experiences, happy and precious moments with her people it reminded her, that she will always be indebted to them.

“I believed that most of them truly cared for that very young Chief of Police. They were my family when I was away from the comforts of my home. They are a big part of who I am today”
