Police Cadet Normin Asing Luis was born and raised in the cold and cloudy mountains of the Cordilleras. The son of Mr. Bert Luis and Mrs. Erinie Luis a native of Kapangan, Benguet. His parents were both farmers who have nothing but give the best for their offspring.
Just like the others he is just an ordinary person living a simple dream. A dream that someday he can bring home a victory that his parents can be proud of. He finished the degree of Bachelor of Science in Criminology and has also passed the licensure examination for Criminologist. This success of mine is a simple gesture of honouring the hardship of my parents. As he holds the hands of his parents, He feels the roughness of their palms and fingers. This reminds him of every moment that they are under the scouring heat of the sun while he is shaded by the roof of our school. His parents keep on reminding them that a piece of land or money they cannot give. The greatest legacy that they can only give is an education earned with the hardship of being a farmer.

“Standing out amidst being part of an Indigenous people”
Leadership is not based on the position we are in or on what race we came from. It is the ability to set standards in the midst of difficulties and challenges. There is no quote that can best describe leadership it is on we understand it on embodying it for the benefit of the people. To be ready as a leader is very different from being a well-prepared leader.
In the face of unexpected challenges or changes, it’s important to be adaptable and flexible. Be willing to pivot your plans or strategies, and keep an open mind to new ideas and solutions. These are some of the things that he has done step-by-step being a leader of his class. He was destined in this institution to be trained to follow and be molded as a leader. He was then the one who always follow what his senior says. Every decision made is critical it might save a life but a bad one can cost a life to fall. A great leader hopes for the best of all. The Academy is a great avenue to hone leadership skills which can greatly be used as future public safety officers. As future officers, it is our duty to always dare to take the lead.
As he takes the challenge of leading his class there he was always reminded of the leadership characteristics of the great personalities in the Bible. Remembering that leadership is a journey, and you will encounter both successes and challenges along the way.
