๐ฃ๐ข๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ง ๐๐๐๐ฅ๐๐ก ๐ ๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐๐ก๐๐ฌ ๐๐จ๐๐๐ข, a 26-year-old pride of Sibagat, Agusan del Sur, knows that the most fertile soil for success is often found in the “๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ผ๐น๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ป ๐ข๐ฝ๐ฝ๐ผ๐ฟ๐๐๐ป๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ฒ๐.” Born to Mr. Gilberto Advincola Gulfo and Mrs. Jocelyn Mahinay Gulfo, her journey is a narrative of transforming pipe dreams into a concrete reality through relentless perseverance.
Long before being part of the Long Maroon Line, ๐ฃ๐๐๐ง ๐๐จ๐๐๐ข was already acquainted with Academic rigor. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Father Saturnino Urios University in Butuan City, graduating cum laude in 2020. However, her milestone was met with the silence of the pandemic; her class, Ascending 40, was “๐ฟ๐ผ๐ฏ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐บ๐ผ๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐ ๐๐ผ ๐บ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฐ๐ต ๐ถ๐ป ๐ฎ ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ๐น ๐ด๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐ฐ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐บ๐ผ๐ป๐.” With board exams canceled and her dream of becoming a Certified Public Accountant deferred, she faced a crossroads of uncertainty.
Rather than yielding to the stagnation of the lockdowns, she embraced a bold leap of faith. She moved to Davao City, where it is a place unfamiliar and remote from her familyโs immediate embrace, to work as a Technical Support Representative in a BPO company. Although the field was entirely unrelated to her degree, she viewed the discomfort as a catalyst. As she often reminds herself and others: “๐๐บ๐ถ๐ฑ๐๐ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป๐๐, ๐ฑ๐ผ ๐ป๐ผ๐ ๐ณ๐๐บ๐ฏ๐น๐ฒ, ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ด๐ฒ ๐ฎ๐ต๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฑ ๐๐ถ๐๐ต ๐ด๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ฒ, ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐ถ๐ป ๐ฑ๐ถ๐๐ฐ๐ผ๐บ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ๐, ๐๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐ถ๐ ๐ฎ๐น๐๐ฎ๐๐ ๐ด๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐๐ต.”
The tide turned when a three-month reliever contract as an accounting assistant opened up at a mining company in her home region. ๐ฃ๐๐๐ง ๐๐จ๐๐๐ข seized the chance to return home and practice her profession. Her dedication did not go unnoticed, as she was absorbed permanently and served the company for over a year. These years in the workforce taught her the weight of being a breadwinner and the “๐๐ฟ๐๐ฒ ๐บ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ป๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ฒ๐น๐ณ๐น๐ฒ๐๐ ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฒ.”
Despite a settled professional life, the call of a shared dream with her father, which is to become a woman in uniform, remained persistent. She took her first and only Philippine National Police Academy Cadet Admission Test (PNPACAT), a definitive step that shifted her trajectory from records to leadership.
Inside the academy, her background in finance and her inherent discipline merged. She served as the Class Finance Officer for the ๐ฃ๐ก๐ฃ๐ ๐ฆ๐๐๐๐ก๐-๐ฃ๐๐๐๐๐ข๐ ๐๐น๐ฎ๐๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฒ for three years before ascending to the 6th highest position in the Cadet Corps as the Regimental Finance Officer. Her journey within the walls of Silang was defined by “๐พ๐๐ถ๐ฒ๐ ๐๐๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ป๐ด๐๐ต” and a commitment to refining her character as much as her skills.
Today, ๐ฃ๐๐๐ง ๐๐จ๐๐๐ข stands at the threshold of a new chapter, graduating as the Top 6 of her class. This achievement is more than a personal victory but more of a tribute to her parentsโ steadfast support and a testament to her resilience. From the humble roots of Agusan del Sur to the refined stature of a public safety officer, she remains a beacon for those navigating their own storms.

As she prepares to step beyond the portals of the Academy, ๐ฃ๐๐๐ง ๐๐จ๐๐๐ข stands ready to safeguard communities, proving that when one forges ahead with grace, even the most challenging paths lead to greatness.
