The PNPA Cadet Selection Process began on October 25, 2015, with 21,175 applicants submitting forms, but only 18,990 were accepted. After a rigorous entrance exam, only 1,259 hopefuls passed, consisting of 893 males and 366 females. The second phase included psychological, psychiatric, medical, and physical examinations, further narrowing the field to 353 cadet aspirants who successfully completed all selection phases. These cadets, making up the BSPS Class of 2020, reported to the academy for registration, documentation, and orientation along with their parents, where they were introduced to the rules and regulations of the institution.
The formal Reception Rites on May 1, 2016, marked the transition from civilian life to the regimented world of the academy. Three cadets failed to report, leaving 350 to undergo intense physical training and discipline under the Upperclass Corps. This was followed by the 55-day Breaking Period, designed to instill the core values of justice, integrity, and service. During this time, cadets took their oath of loyalty to serve the country and elected their class officers, establishing their identity as “MANDAYUG.” Incorporation Rites on June 25, 2016, finalized their acceptance into the Cadet Corps, followed by a demanding academic period that tested their resilience, leading to some cadets being reassigned to the next lower class.

After months of rigorous training and leadership development, the class achieved recognition on December 10, 2016, marking their transition from probationary cadets to full-fledged members of the Cadet Corps. Over the years, they experienced company reshuffling in April 2019, which challenged their adaptability. Finally, after 1,482 days of training, 274 cadets graduated on May 22, 2020, in a virtual ceremony with President Rodrigo Duterte as the Guest of Honor. The class, consisting of 194 men and 83 women, was assigned to different bureaus: 224 to the PNP, 25 to the BFP, and 25 to the BJMP, ready to uphold the principles of public safety and service.
